Stop Task Scheduler appearing at boot up

I upgraded from Windows 98 SE to Windows Me. On restart everything worked, except that when I boot up two unwanted windows appear. The first one says 'Task Scheduler service. Some tasks did not execute at their scheduled times as the Task Scheduler service was not running. You can view the list of missed tasks and attempt to run them again from within the Task Scheduler folder'. The second is the Trend PC-cillin 98 antivirus program window. How do I stop them appearing when I boot up?

To stop the Task Scheduler service warning from appearing, double-click the Task Scheduler icon in the System Tray to open the Scheduled Tasks folder. Click the Advanced menu, then click 'Notify me of missed tasks' to remove the tick beside it.

It's not clear whether the PC-cillin window you are referring to is a splash screen or not. If it's possible to prevent it from appearing, there should be an option for this in the program settings.
